Do not be quickly provoked in your spirit, for anger resides in the lap of fools.
—Ecclesiastes 7:9

Negative and positive emotions are two sides of the same coin, whether we like it or not, we must understand that negative emotions come with the package of what makes us humans, not a robot.

Just imagine the semantics of outcomes, the differences in efficacy when the polar opposites of the emotions were deployed in problem solving. Which one would you rather have?  What I am trying to say is, it is totally fine if you feel anger, sadness, fear or any equivalent of which as you face adversities. However, do not prolong or amplify negative emotions as they are very contagious and we are highly susceptible to be affected by negativity.

I need someone to share my emotional burden. Is this what you say when you are going through difficult phases of life? Not everyone is obliged to carry that burden of yours. Your first option should be independent and neutralise it for yourself only. Being dependent too much will put yourselves into the pit of nadir or into the beleaguered lot.

We are here to solve problems, not to create more problems. The mindset of setting the right priorities by discretional judgement and adjusting your attitude, emotions in problem solving is quintessential.

Negative emotion is never an option. Abstain from those who hinder you and look forward to whatever that might come in the future. Being churlish or similar reactions are very likely to lead to rash decisions. Therefore, do not make the choices of today the regrets of tomorrow.

Here is Kelvin’s draft:

  • Disclaimer, I am not a robot. I do have emotion in all spectrum and understand negative emotion comes with the package of what makes us human.
  • Just imagine the comparisons of outcomes, the differences in effectiveness and efficiency when the polar opposites of the emotions were deployed in problem solving.
  • Which one would you rather have?
  • What I am trying to say is, it is totally fine you feel anger, sadness, fear or equivalent of whose once you faced problems.
  • But just please do not prolong and amplify it until the extent that those around you are also being contagiously affected and so to the overall progress of the problem solving.
  • You might argue, I need someone to share my emotional burden. However not everyone is obliged to carry that burden and your first option should always be independent and neutralise it for yourself only.
  • Like this wise friend of mine always says when she was informed about whatever bad news there was in her projects, We are here to solve problems, not create more problems.
  • The mindset of setting the priorities right and adjusting your attitude/emotions in problem solving is essential.
  • Negative emotion is not an option.Throw away those which hinder you and look forward to whatever that might come in the future.
  • To end this post, I would like to share one of my favourite verses, Ecclesiastes 7:9 says : Do not be quickly provoked in your spirit, for anger resides in the lap of fools.
  • Quick tempered anger or similar reactions are very likely to lead to rash decisions.
  • Therefore ,do not make the choices of today the regrets of tomorrow.
